1. Go to System administration > Common > Users > Users.
2. Select the record for "Tony Smith."
3. On the top of the Users list page, click Edit.
4. In the middle of the User form, click Assign roles.
5. Select the records for "Employee", and "Manager", and then click OK.
6. On the User form, click Close.
7. Note "Employee" and "Manager" are added as roles in the Roles for selected user action pane.
To assign Tony to the role of Production manager, follow these steps:
1. Go to System administration > Setup > Security > Assign users to roles.
2. Select the role "Production manager."
3. In the center of the Assign users to roles form, click Manually assign / exclude users.
4. Select the record for "Tony Smith".
5. At the top of the Assign user to or exclude user from this role form, click the Assign to role button.
6. Click Close.
7. Notice "Tony Smith" is added to the Production manager role.
8. Close the Assign users to roles form.
