create a configuration file to open the new test environment

To create a configuration file to open the new test environment, follow these steps:

1. Open
Start > Administrative Tools > Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Configuration.

2. Click
Manage > Create Configuration.

3. In
Configuration name, type "Test".

4. In
Copy Configuration from, select "Original configuration", then click OK.

5. In
Startup message, type "Test".

6. On the
Connection tab select the record for "SEA-DEV", then click Edit.

7. In
Instance name, type "MSDynamicsAXTest".

8. In
TCP/IP port, type "2713".

9. In
WSDL port, type "8102", then click OK.

10. The Microsoft Dynamics AX Configuration utility opens a dialog
with the following message "The change you made resets existing
configuration required to access WCF services hosted by the AOS.
To regenerate the configuration with your new settings, chose
Refresh Configuration under the connections tab.", click
OK.

11. Click
Refresh Configuration, and wait while the system performs this task, then click Apply.

12. Click
Manage > Save configuration as file.

13. In
File name, type "Test configuration", and then click Save.

14. In
Configuration, change "MSDynamicsAXTest" back to "Original (installed configuration)", then Click OK.

15. In the taskbar click the
Windows explorer icon, click Documents, and then double-click "Test configuration.axc".

16. Notice that Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 opens with the message "Test", then click
OK.

NOTE: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 opens with the Initialization checklistpane on the left. The steps in the installation checklist including Prepare
initialization
, Synchronize database, and Initialize system must be completed
before the TEST system can be used. Also note that the Initialize system step
cannot be completed until the prior two steps are completed. The steps in the
Initialization checklist will not be performed in this class because it is timeconsuming.

17. Close the Microsoft Dynamics AX test environment.

Hossein Karimi
