complete this procedure on the computer that is running Microsoft SQL Server
Reporting Services.
If you are installing other Microsoft Dynamics AX components at the same time,
the installation pages will vary based on the components that you are installing.
1. Start Microsoft Dynamics AX Setup. Under Install, select Microsoft Dynamics AX components.
2. Step through the initial wizard pages.
3. If the Setup Support files have not yet been installed on this
computer, the Select a file location page is displayed. The Setup
Support files are required for installation. Provide a file location or
accept the default location and then click Next. On the Ready to
install page, click Install.
4. On the Select installation type page, select Custom installation.
Click Next.
5. On the Select components page, select Business Intelligence
Components.
NOTE: If the Management Utilities have not yet been installed on this computer,
they will be automatically selected for installation, as well.
6. Click Next.
7. On the Prerequisite Validation page, resolve any errors. When
there are no errors, click Next.
8. On the Select a file location page, provide a file location or accept
the default location. Click Next.
9. On the Specify client configuration options page, specify whether
the .NET Business Connector will access configuration information
from the registry on the local computer or from a shared
configuration file. If you select the shared configuration file, enter
the network location of the file. Click Next.
10. On the Connect to AOS instance page, enter the name of the
computer running the AOS instance to connect to. You can
optionally specify the AOS instance name, the TCP/IP port number,
and the services WSDL port. Click Next.
11. On the Specify Business Connector proxy account informationpage, enter the name and password for the .NET Business Connector
proxy account. Click Next.
12. On the Business intelligence components: Provide business
intelligence database page, do the following:
a. Select an instance of Reporting Services. (Reporting Services
must be running on the local computer.)
b. Select the Deploy Reports check box to deploy the default
reports that are included with Microsoft Dynamics AX to
Reporting Services.
c. Select the server that is running Analysis Services. (Analysis
Services may be running on the local computer or on a remote
computer.)
d. Select an instance of Analysis Services.
e. Click Next.
13. On the Analysis Services: Connect to a SQL Server Databasepage, do the following:
a. Select the computer that hosts your Microsoft Dynamics AX
online transaction processing (OLTP) database.
b. Select the Microsoft Dynamics AX OLTP database. To connect
to the OLTP database: Select the Microsoft Dynamics AX
baseline database, and then click Next.
14. On the Analysis extensions: Specify user accounts page, specify
which domain accounts will be used to process cubes. Each domain
account that you specify should:
a. Not be associated with a specific user account. For example, you
could use the .NET Business Connector proxy account.
b. Have a password that does not expire.
c. Click Next.
15. On the Prerequisite validation results page, resolve any errors.
When there are no errors, click Next.
16. On the Ready to install page, click Install.
17. After the installation is complete, click Finish to close the wizard.
